We’re in a postcard shop in North Beach. Amiable. The postcards fill the space like art, and every card is displayed on the walls. Cats live on some cards, dressed like us. Still, the lengthening afternoon, down the steep hill, to the right, and onto the main scene drawn with Tosca, and, across the street, City Lights. When we take Mayakovsky to check out, the poet owner is there and he rings us up…
